When I was opening someone's profile the other day, their online status said "
hippos?)". Yes. Exactly "hippos?)" Parenthesis and everything. xDD WHAT the hell was THAT...BUT at any rate, the real beef of this post comes from the weapons testing sandbox. No, no. It's not about greifers...I like many others, have turned the existance of greifers into a passtime and enjoy frequently owning their asses.
Rather, this complaint comes from the supposed questionability of a very ANTI-greifer device. Probably the single most usefull item in SL; The anti-phys vehicle. Now, this ammenity is really ESSENTIAL to your privacy (and right to exist..) if you're working in places like the weapons testing sandbox. Ergo, whenever I go there, I use one. And I am never disturbed with more than flimsy particles. It's very nice to be able to work in peace.

Today, I was in the testing sandbox, on my anti-phys, working with magnets when lo', all my items, INCLUDING the antiphys vehicle I was sitting on and my magnets dissapeared.
Well, ok. Just the hourly sandbox clearing..? Nope. At this point I am a sitting duck -a noob target, plain and bright red for all to target. So I try to rez AT LEAST my anti-phys again, as not to be randomly orbitted by some newb. (Completely disreguarding the fact that my magnet and other items were also returned for appearantly no reason..) It dissapears and reappears in my inventory. I try to rez it again. Again it dissapears. And again. And again..
Until I, along with everyone else in the sandbox, get a little blue notice at the top of my screen from Data Linden saying to "Please refrain from the use of anti-phys. This causes a lot of stress on the region."
WTF!!??
Since WHEN does a VEHICLE with an ANIMATION OVERRIDE cause ANY STRESS on the region at ALL..!?? THE WEAPONS BEING TESTED THERE HAVE MORE OF AN EFFECT ON THE REGION THAN ANTI-PHYS VEHICLES DO!!
Luckilly enough, after about a hundred or so rezzes, I finally got one of my anti-physes to function..
What the hell is going on here!? Please, Lord God, don't tell me that LL is going to outlaw the use fo anti-phys. Now, I don't mean to be a prick, but if LL takes anti-phys away from us for whatever reason they may have, they DAMN well better provide us with an alternative built in to the programme..
And DON'T say to just "sit on a box". It's not the same and you know it..hence why someone with a wonderfull idea made it a VEHICLE..
And here I thought LL supported the idea of protecting residents from greifers..
What is going on..?
