Since they were made public, I've taken the liberty of analyzing the data (see my posts in these threads). In doing so, I've come up with the following results:
* Roughly 12% of all accounts created in the month of August logged in during September
* Of all the accounts created prior to September 5th, 3.3% logged in over the past 30 days
* Of all the accounts created prior to August 5th, 1.0% logged in over the past 60 days
* There are roughly 90,000 honest-to-goodness active accounts currently accessing SL regularly, with roughly 40,000 distinct accounts logging in each day
My questions are:
Is there a Linden employee that has done a similar analysis?
If so, are my results consistent with theirs?
If my results are wildly inaccurate, which of my assumptions are skewing the results?
If my results are on base, are there any new initiatives coming online to try to boost new user retention?
It would be valuable for your statistician is to post their results and methodologies to The Official Blog for comparison.
