I noted the following post tonight during the extended outage:

"Goreans' Portal Radio still has a broadcaster/correspondent inside the grid, streaming
music and what news there is. Point your player at http://boa.mediacast1.com:8986
and soothing music and perhaps not-so-soothing news should ensue."

I have seen similar postings at other times. If the grid is indeed "closed for maintenance, and logins restricted to employees only" then why are there still residents playing the game?

I own a private sim, and if those sims are unaffected by these mainland grid accounts, then I would like access to my sim as it seems others may have access to theirs. If that's not possible, then I suggest you consider logging out ALL residents when the grid is open only to staff.

Explanation please?

It is possible, and happens sometimes for various reasons, that logins can be down while the grid is up. When this happens anyone that is already in world can stay in world, as long as they don't log out. No picking and choosing is done of who can stay in, and there are no special non-linden accounts that are able to log in.
