What Anti-virus processes does LL use to test the client?

Greetings!

I have read a post or two by people who have experienced what is presumably a false positive report of a virus or trojan pertaining to the Second Life client from their anti-virus software.

I assume that Linden Labs runs an anti-virus scan on the Second Life client for each update before publishing it for download.

Can we be given some detail on this scanning process so that residents can be reassured that, when they receive a notification from their virus scanner pertaining to the Second Life client, it is most likely a false indication?

Thanks!

Hey Tomas! Sure, I'm going to ask Development to find more about our methods... please hold on while I get an answer... :)

[UPDATE] As it turns out, this is really a great question of broad interest to our community, so we've provided a Knowledge Base article here:

What antivirus processes does Linden Lab use to test Second Life?

:)
