This is probably a decent question but I'm not too sure about this one...

How can I help???
Bug reports seem to go nowhere... The Mentor program seems to have just disappeared... And so thus has Live Help just vanished...

I want to help...

I want to take the brunt of the fall for the Lindens... To answer those sickening questions... Do I have to be a Linden Lab employee to be a Linden??? I want people to come to me when they just can't figure it out... I'm not saying I'm holier than thou... I don't know everything... About SL or RL (Some of you call this 1L or First Life).. I just want to help... Ask anyone who has come into contact with me in SL... If they ask a question then by golly I'll find an answer... Whether it be computer problems or lag or anything... I search and search until the answer is found... I just would like to do this on a broader scale...

I know I'm probably going to get burned with this post but I just wanted to know... I mean Torley is (Lightning Forum Linden)... Karen seems to be Bad News Linden (No offense just you always seem to get the bad news and post it first)... Then there's Pheonix and Brent Linden (Bug Linden's extraordinaire)... These people need help... They catch the brunt of the fall almost all the time...

In closing... I just want to help... How can that be done???

EDIT: Robin and Phillip I didn't mean to forget you guys nor the others... Phillip is Super Owner Linden and Robin... You gotta be Sticky Linden (Just because well you do almost all the Stickies... LMAO...)

Here are some thoughts+feelings:
  1. Bug reports do get to the right place; I've often seen QA discussing and investigating fresh issues for myself. Unfortunately due to the volume of them, personal correspondence can't be sent back for all reports.
  2. Our volunteer programmes are very active; sometimes you just have to be in the right place at the right time. There's often a density of Mentors on Help Islands; likewise, you can always check on the Live Helpers via HELP menu ---> LIVE HELP.
  3. You do have to be a Linden Lab employee to be a Linden, as the name says.
  4. I think a lot of help you could do, would be through distributing and spreading information. I believe strongly in Residents helping Residents. A lot of times, there's bug fixes in a new release and some don't know it's been addressed yet. Similar case for occasions when the grid goes down, you see the "Is SL Down?" or "I'm having problems logging in!" from people looking for a reply. Oftentimes, there's already a post in Announcement. Letting them know, "The Lindens have already posted and are working on it!" helps a lot.
People don't like to feel alone... if you come across problems that someone else is having that you've had yourself or you can relate to, it helps to let them know.

If you want to sign up for any of the volunteer programs, for example to see how active Live Help is, I'd heartily recommend it too.
