PayPal for monthly payments?

Can you add the option to pay monthly payments using PayPal? I did not see it offered as an option on the payment options for my account. I do know it can be used to verify payment information for a new account. Since I have just canceled all the credit cards and debit cards I have ever used with Linden Lab, I do not feel comfortable giving an updated card number until the security of customer information (specifically hashed credit card numbers) are removed from the customer database.

Hi,

We do accept Paypal for payments and have for some time now. To switch from credit card to Paypal, simply go to "my account", log in and on the right had side under "Membership" you will see "Update Payment Method". The direct link is: https://secondlife.com/account/billing.php Look on the very bottom for the link to create a billing agreement via Paypal.

When setting up a Paypal billing agreement we will send a $1.00 authorization request (it's essentially asking "if we wanted to charge a dollar, could we" and is how we validate any account.) Once that's done, you should be good to go with PayPal.

For Paypal agreements (US): We require that a Paypal account be verified and the primary funding source be a bank account. Paypal requires that the secondary funding be a credit card, or that there be a balance in the Paypal account to cover charges billed.

For Paypal agreements (UK): Primary funding sources for European residents can be either the customer's bank account or a Switch or Solo card, but NOT credit cards. There is a requirement of a secondary funding source, but again, it cannot be a credit card. It would need to be either the customer's bank account or a Switch or Solo card (whichever was not used as primary).

Some residents have expressed concern over security of Paypal passwords. We do not store this information. As a general password security precaution, its adviseable not to use any password for multiple services

Regards,

Jill Linden
