Request: Blank searches

Now that we have more property types - thanks, it's something I asked for a while ago - I find we still aren't able to search just by category.

It would be so helpful if we could just click on a category, then it 'search' to bring up all those that are in that category, without having to know the name of it.

I can see a particular advantage in this for "Newcomer Friendly" - so a new player could see all the places that would be good to go, although of course every category has that similar amount of use. It is a principle that worked extremely well in TSO for players to be able to find new places in a certain category, so I believe its introduction to the SL search facility would be a benefit.

An additional benefit would be enabling people to find places just by type, that they may never have discovered before, thus opening up exploration possibilities, as well as possibly bringing more of a balance to traffic and not just measuring popularity by who has the most camping chairs.

FIND "NULL" + CATEGORY "STORE" would bring up all searches

FIND "CHAIR" + CATEGORY "STORE" would bring up all stores with the word 'chair' in their profile, as present.

FIND "CHAIR" + CATEGORY "ANY CATEGORY" would bring up all places with the word 'chair' in their profile.

My guess is that the work required would be minimal, and the positives limitless, giving all properties an opportunity to be found without having to know the name or have an idea of what you are looking for.

Thanx Lewis. I'd find this helpful myself, for the Linden Location category too. It's a bit confusing to find out you have to type in stuff after. Please feel free to use the Feature Voting Tool and let me know the proposal so we can get a better idea who else has an interest in it!
