Failed to rez item completely gone?

Hey yesterday I did a stupid thing, I tried to rez something. It gave me an 'object failed to rez message' and that was it, the item has gone from my inventory completely. This was a one of a kind custom made gadget, made specifically for my business needs. Will it ever come back? If the answer is probably no, then please just say probably no, I would rather work on getting an alternative to holding out false hope on it returning.

Please don't take this as a complaint or having a go, because it isn't, I'd just like a knowledgable answer to my question.

Hello Bonnie, I had this problem too — I wrote news about it on the Official Linden Blog actually! Relates to the recent database problems. So you can check there, and like I wrote:

REMEMBER: generally, things may appear to be gone, but they are not actually gone. When the database’s functioning as expected, your stuff should be rezzable again.
