I tried to understand that article, but I honestly don't think I succeeded. Something about conspiracy theories and taking away the events list because Linden takes away everything or something?

I have thought about the events list. The events list is currently not on LL's radar, though maybe it should be.

It is currently pretty good for finding events that are happening now or very soon, and as a way to advertise events that are happening very soon.

It doesn't seem to be good for any of the following:
- Finding or planning events a day or more into the future
- Sharing the events you like or that you host with your friends
- Finding the events your friends host or like
- Finding or sharing events hosted by the groups you are in, or the people in those groups
- Finding events hosted by other specific groups or their members
- Finding events in specific places
- Distinguishing the 'good' events or 'good' hosts or 'good' event places from the 'bad'

Looking at the above, I think there is definite room for improving (the) Events (listings). I even can come up with some ideas that I think would be cool. However, it isn't on the priority list, it isn't being planned and it isn't being designed (outside the few spare cycles in my head).

If the Events list is important to you, and you would like to share your ideas about it please feel free to email me: kelly@lindenlab.com. Or if you want to start a discussion on the topic - that isn't filled with conspiracy theories - either on these forums or another forums, feel free to send me a link (kelly@lindenlab.com) and I would be glad to have a look and even possibly weigh in.

If you actually were trying to get opinions on conspiracy theories, about how LL plans well in advance the twists and turns of the incredibly evil social experiment of Second Life ... well, you can email me then too (kelly@lindenlab.com). I can't gaurantee I will reply though ... you know how conspiracies are. ;) In all honesty there is no conspiracy, Linden Lab is full of people who think that virtual worlds are the future, they all have different ideas of what that may mean exactly, and they are all trying to make Second Life a better place. But that is exactly what someone on the inside of a grand social experiment would say. Ah well. And here I am answering posts after 10pm again.

If you have other questions, as cool a read as Second Thoughts is, it is easier to answer direct questions than 'what do you think of this?' about a long blog entry with many, many replies.

If there was a completely different issue in that post or the replies that I overlooked, please, re-ask. If possible, quote the particular section in question.
