Business requirements

Viewing Sl from a real world business platform in my opinion needs to develop in several ways.

Primary: open access. Its important that as many users can access sl as possible. I really like that the size of the client is very small. This encourages more web users to download and enter the world.
I also appreciate and feel strongly that credit card details are not required initially to view the world, but when customers start wanting to buy products and services, then they need to sign up just like e-commerce websites.

I feel that there needs to be more work done on the navigational and mapping system. It is too hard for new users to find companies within section life.
Ideally I would like a map to be displayed on the newbie area, with the world spilt into different areas. Like in theme parks or malls.
With this a real life business section, with all rl commercial business within one area.
Fragmented business sections just isn’t good from a business perspective.

Can the search engine have an extra section for rl business search, as for customers it maybe confusing to tell the difference from a rl clothes shop to a sl clothes shop.
Please think about that.

Hi stove--there are some related things we are definitely considering and wanting to implement, including better Search (which is *so* important).

I'm not sure exactly what your definition of "open access" is: we currently have open registration which is pretty simple, and analogous to a lot of popular websites.

Sounds like you have ideas: I'd go forth with them and really flesh them out. As Second Life is a Resident-created world, I bet you could make good things happen!
