Whom (and how) to contact on serious issues?

A few things have crossed my mind lately, related to how to abuse the SL system.

On one or two issues, I used Help -> Report Bug and classified it as an Exploit, as I suspect it can be used as an exploit. However, I have only rec'd the standard AutoReply that my report has been received.

To determine whether or not my suspicions were correct, and whether or not the issue has been resolved, my options are:

1. Ignore it, and hope for the best.

2. Submit another report, and hope for the best.

3. Attempt the exploit myself, and see what happens.

4. Discuss the issue with others via forum posts or in-world group messaging.

5. Actually chat with someone in a position to evaluate it, and find out if action should be taken.

Of those options, I don't think either 1 or 2 is sufficient. I enjoy SL, and I would like to feel comfortable that my comments are not dropping through the cracks. Additionally, some of these issues require detailed explanation and perhaps demonstration which cannot be conveyed in a standard Bug Report.

Options 3 and 4 I rule out, without further consideration. If it is, in fact, an exploitable issue, I don't want to do it, and I don't want to put the idea in other people's heads.

Which leaves me with option 5... the problem is, how can I get a direct line to someone with whom I can discuss the issue? Live Help seems quite overwhelmed, and has been frequently unable to answer questions of a technical nature (beyond "how to" level questions).

So... what is the best route to take to get in touch with the appropriate person / people?

Hi Don! Glad you asked--have you already read Brent's blog posts explaining more about exploits? It outlines all the details and actions that'll be taken:

If it's determined to be an exploit, you should be contacted ASAP as these are time-sensitive matters. If you are sure it's an exploit and you didn't hear back, please don't hesitate to let Brent know, you can email him directly at brent@lindenlab.com

Best of hope and thanx for caring!
