I sell animations in SL. I've been selling them without any problem for more than a year. I sell the items directly, not in a folder. Their permissions are no-copy, but with permission to transfer. I haven't changed my vendor scripts in months. My vendor script transfers the item with this simple line of code: llGiveInventory(identity, itemname)
Suddenly, over the past couple days, I've had a rash of customers who report that when they buy an item from my vendors, the item poofs. It doesn't happen to all customers, but I have had a half-dozen problems in the past couple days, and I managed to reproduce it with one of my friends this evening. She said she saw the item arrive in her objects folder; then she logged out; when she relogged, the item had poofed. Some customers report this pattern. Others say they check and see a folder but no item. I don't believe people are lying to me; I see records of their purchases, and this rash of complaints all at once seems like no coincidence. What's more puzzling is that it doesn't happen to every buyer. My vendors work fine for me, my alt, and several of my friends.
Sellers who sell in folders tell me they're not having these problems. But I've heard that people who buy from SL Exchange are sometimes having similar trouble.
Does Linden Labs have some plan for addressing what seems like a new bug? If it's not a bug, could you at least explain to me what recent changes you've made to LSL that change the behavior of llGiveInventory? These changes may require me to change all the scripts on my vendors, so this is an enormous issue for me. But my strong suspicion is that there's some new problem or bug in LSL. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.
