A free market economy functions at efficiency with the share of information. Linden is in a unique position to provide that data:

Land Release Rates
Land Absorption Rates
Average m2 prices by Sim / M / PG
Amount of land for sale
Number of prims associated with a particular sim per m2 and the transition rate

This type of information would make the buying "public" more aware of the economy in which they are creating their communities leading to more longevity in the survival of those communitites.

As well, the land "barons" that spend thousands of US and Lindens to acquire sims repeatedly, could better gauge the release and sale prices of those sims, as well as could buyers better determine the value of their purchase and provide better negotiating leverage.

Currently, Linden Sim dumping is pushing prices down, while the Linden Dollar continues to slide; memories of the 80's real estate crash in the RL.

Without value creation, there is no purpose in continuing the play in the game; wheter it be economic, social (community), spritual, or other. Without tools to weigh, analyze, gauge and understand value creation, the overall positive effect of value creation is mnimized.

Noticing more and more auctions are requiring U.S. Dollars for purchase is a viable attempt to: (1) stabilize the value of the linden; and (2) guarantee to Linden Labs that if their Linden Dollars devalue, then at least ther are some U.S. Dollars coming in to pay the electric bill and keep the party afloat.

However, depriving users of selling their land for U.S. Dollars defeats purpose number 1 b/c with the current devaluation of the Linden, the horde of Linden reserves, and the push for land value appreciation, only Linden Labs which can sell land for U.S. Dollars (making the U.S. Dollar to the Linden similar to the Gold Reserve that used to suport the U.S. Dollar) can remain a viable entity (assuming Lindens' not granting any favors to the larger / largest land buyer).

An alternative to consider, would be the ebay-Linden Land; allow land holders not just to put their land up for sale, but instead resell in an auction environment. That move would resabilize the Linden Dollar b/c the sale price would more equate to the value players are willing to pay.

Best of Luck!
