Ok, so the new class 5 servers cost more, but save LL money, so....why is the tier being raised too? I can totally understand that the upfront cost of the server to go up, but why is the monthly fee going up?
LL has stated that the main reason for the move to the new class 5 is the power consumption is much less, which saves LL money.
Answer please?

We got a CFO who looked at the numbers very carefully and discovered that we were actually right at, or below, cost when it came to our hardware aquisition and operations. There is an article about it here. The new price includes a projection into the era of class-5 hardware, the reality of bandwidth and co-location costs, and the cost to eventually upgrade the lesser hardware as it fails.
