Since the LL blog is the desired method of communication now [twitches], the comment system seems to be lacking a glaringly obvious feature. Namely, integration with the SL site login sytem. Once a user is logged into the site, they generally don't have to login again. However, the comment posting system remains "anonymous", allowing anyone to post a comment as anyone else, or as a made-up name.

I don't support this decision by LL, and my trust in the company has been seriously shaken, but if you truly wish to go this route, at least make the blog comment system feel a bit more integrated, instead of the current setup, which looks very tacked-on and unprofessional.

G'day Felix!

To clarify, and please help repeat this for me because we can never communicate enough:

The blog isn't *the* desired method of communication. We strive to have many options, and will be adding more in the future. For example, Notices in the new Groups system enable better asynchronous broadcasting.

However, the Official Linden Blog *does* fill a very large void where not much was before. It is simple, easy to get to, and updated regularly, and Linden posts don't get lost in the shuffle. Not to mention, hey, it's hip to have a company blog. ;)

And oh yeah, for those of you who hate blogs, we accomodate that too. Just enter your email address:
and you'll get it delivered to you as an email newsletter. SAVES YOU TIME!

Thx for the suggestion; it's a great one I've got many times... about the whole authentication angle.

I'm currently investigating some blog enhancements with our Operations and Web Developer Lindens. we're gonna ramp things up as time goes on. It's like... making pizza with octopi.
