I wanted to post this here because I would like to hear it directly from the source. I've been hearing mixed stories on this and I want to be sure I have my story straight and not doing anything to inconvenience any other second life users.
I have a "shield" accessory for my avatar that I got from another user and while wearing it in a sandbox was told not to wear it because it causes severe lag to the sim. It doesn't activate unless someone bumps into me and only for a very brief moment. Is this really the case? Are there accessories that will cause significant slow down in your sims?
If so I'd like to know so I can avoid using these in the future. I want to be sure I'm not causing any trouble or slowdowns for other users in the sims I visit.
