Why can't we turn off mapping for roleplay? Certain roleplays are carried out more true to game if the person cannot be mapped. For example a runaway slave in a gorean sim. Also alot of us enjoy our privacy.

What's likely to happen in the future, Lani, is our move to an XML User Interface as of 1.11 will allow for greater flexibility. Somewhere down the road, there'll be more interface customizations for different desires, conceivably including ones without maps showing. Imagine being able to take out elements at whim and make them more amenable to your roleplay.

I agree sometimes it's desirable to have maps turned off--I like to wander and get lost at times!

In the present, the best you could do is click the Mini-Map button to toggle it off.
