No-copy item lost due to "object failed to rez"

I finally decided to get off my butt last night after the grid came back up and fill out the 500L ETD giftcard I had been given. Nov. 30 is the deadline for submitting them. I tried to rez the no-copy item on my own land and received a "object failed to rez" message. Now, more than 12 hours later, the box containing the no-copy giftcard is still missing. I feel badly that I managed to lose an item a friend had spent 500L on. I suppose that's what happens when one waits until the last minute.
Not that it will do me any good now, but is there any chance that no-copy items that failed to rez may reappear eventually? I don't really expect to see my lost item again, but thought I'd ask.
