In an effort to address the issue of camping in Second Life I have started a document to describe the issue and capture a possible way to combat it and I'm looking for feedback from Linden Labs. Is this something Linden Labs welcome from residents? If it is what is the correct way to get this sort of feedback to you? Documenting this and other perceived resident issues isn't useful if it's not welcomed by Linden Labs. It seems like if we can document problems with possible solutions it's more useful for Linden Labs than just complaining.

Quelling the act of "camping for cash":

If you would like to give me feedback or would like collaborator access to the document please email me jebediah dot brown at gmail dot com

Cheers,

Hi Jeb, thanks for sharing -- I also got your email! Looks like you put a lot of time into this. :)

We of course welcome feedback for consideration when it comes to future changes. And I'll acknowledge the reality that camping chair woes (e.g., "I bought a parcel and can't get into it because campers are sitting all over the big casino in the same region!";) continue to be painful, and that we've had a variety of suggestions on how to deal with them. We look for suggestions where a lot of Residents agree and come together -- have you showed your proposal around much?

I don't have any specific comments about your doc at the moment, but I know historically, somewhat-related proposals to limit Basic Accounts (and now, with no payment info) have come up, and weren't well-received, because they were perceived to be too harsh on the new Resident experience.

P.S. It's pretty cool you use Google Docs too.
