As a male playing a male character, is the best way to make money just searching the classifieds to find a job. What types of oppurtunities are out there for a new character to make money?
Thanks

That's a broad net of fish, Sean. Any answer I give you wouldn't be enough--and the best way is to learn from your own experiences. For example, factor in this important question: what do you really enjoy doing?
Some of the best ways aren't defined, Residents find them and flourish. This may sound nutty, but proof is if you look at already-successful (what you consider to be success) Resis and get to know more about how they got where they are today.
First steps, are you into making and selling stuff? Try your hand at building. Maybe you're more of a social type? Then heck, talk to a lot of people. Look for odd nooks and crannies--I used to make L$ doing proofreading and consultation of things going on inworld. (I suppose I've kicked that up a notch, working for Linden Lab now... hehe...) Are you into modelling? There are male models on the catwalks. Journalism? There are opportunities for that too. If you have an idea of what you enjoy from offline, fuse that "real life" goodness with your Second Life. Explore, adventure, take it a day at a time. Don't expect it to come all at once...
If you can make money doing what you love, that's a fulfilling, fun, and enrichingly meaningful Second Life right there.
