Under the Roles tab, in the Groups dialog, is a set of fields: Name (of role) and Title.
What is the difference between the two and what implications are there of using one or the other?
Further comment: Why doesn't somebody, who is knowledgeable about the subject at Linden Labs, sit down and write a concise and complete document describing every aspect of the new group dialog interface and the implications of choosing any of the features.
Many of the choices in this interface are important, they involve money, power to do and not do something, and the very real chance of blowing an announcement for an event or embarrassing yourself in front of an important group.
Many of us out here would like real documents that describe interface, not cursory release notes or a wandering story of an anecdotal 'spy' club. We do not need you to guess or assume our intended use but to empower us to use Second Life to its fullest degree, allowing us to shine and Lindens Labs as well. Forcing us to come and ask a single question, one at a time, for every detail we encounter is time consuming and inefficient. It also would help Linden Labs by reducing support calls and allowing more informed user questions.
One thing I also notice about the help in Second Life is that no one ever produces a screen shot or picture of the subject at hand. This would not only help provide clarity for the reader but help the writer to inventory what they have covered and what they have missed. This is what everyone else does in the tech industry when documenting software for users.
Thanks in advance.

The Title is what may appear above group member's heads. On the general tab for any group you are in, on the bottom right there is a drop down box. This box includes the title for every role you are in and lets you choose which to wear.
The name of the role is an internal only name, only viewable in the groups interface. It doesn't always make sense for the title and the role name to be the same, although it doesn't hurt anything if they are. For example a role title of "*Bling Masters*", while extremely cool and all, may not be as accurate a name for the role as "Property Enforcers". You may also want to set the title as the same for multiple roles, but having the same role name in that case would just make things confusing.
Each power/ability as a pretty decent explanation in the Abilities tab on the Roles and Members tab. I think there is also some good information in the Help in the client, although I will let Torley speak up more about the documentation.

Thanx for the help, Kelly. Loydin, I know you also raised the same issue at the Community Roundtable Meeting--it's good you're able to explain more about what you mean here. You're right that more visuals would be great. I've been wanting to have more pictures, labeled with what each element does. Sometimes that gets too crowded, and we have inworld hover tips. What I'm keenly aware of is that there's such an amazing diversity of learning styles--some like their docs dry, others really want a vivid illustration. Some HATE reading notecards, others want to watch videos (e.g., http://blog.secondlife.com/2006/08/08/how-to-use-this-blog-video-tutorial/ ) If there's a particular and specific problem you see with one of the actions-and-consequences, let me know (torley@lindenlab.com), particularly if one of the inworld descriptions for an Ability doesn't make it clear enough what a given outcome will be. Also, what would also help is sending me links to documentation you currently enjoy so we can get a better understanding of your favored style.
