I went to a demonstration today to try to get our US senator to come out in favor of Net Neutrality which directly affects me and many other SL content creators.
Has Linden Labs looked into how we (All of SL) might be affected if Comcast, Verizon, etc. get their way and make a two tiered interent?
I apprectiate any information or links you might provide that could help me understand the implications of this issue.
Thank you.

We haven't looked at this seriously yet - there are still alot of unknowns in exactly what Verizon et al might do. I personally believe that the market will keep this sort of thing from becoming more widespread than it already is, but of course if it did it would be bad for business. However, we already buy bandwidth (indirectly) from a large number of providers, so if a carrier uses service tiers to incent us to add them to the stable, it's not hard.
That said, and Linden Lab doesn't have an official position on this yet, if we're asked to pay off an ISP or face degraded connectivity to their customers, we're unlikely to do so. We are much more likely to endeavor to explain to those customers exactly why SL doesn't work well for them. I'm sure that in a world of crippled net access, it will become relatively easy to identify and propose non-crippled alternatives for any given region.
