The eventful.com website offers a much more powerful search function for SL events than the one built in to SL .
If a version of the eventful.com website could be made, designed to work in a very short web page, not very tall at all, it could be displayed and used in the mozilla browser while still being able to see part of the SL environment. The page might also work designed to be tall and not very wide. With links to the events in the proper form it could trigger teleports.
Does this idea have any merit?

It definitely has merit, Suez. I know Pathfinder Linden turned me on to using Eventful more--and I've also heard Resident discussions about replacing the inworld event listing with an HTML-based solution which is more scalable. Props to FlipperPA Peregrine for bringing that up too: "HTML based, customizable replacement of the Second Life "Find" system, which is grossly outdated and hasn't scaled well in many areas (IE: events list, popular places, etc.)" CONTEXT: http://secondslog.blogspot.com/2006/06/second-life-mozilla-and-you.htmlDefinitely something we are going to continue to investigate, and hopefully implement when we can jump on it more firmly.
