The problem with texture rez stopping completely on some (50%) objects and not finishing unless you click/hover your mouse over the impacted objects appears to go away if you disable memory above 2 GB.
Is memory over 2 GB supported by the Second Life client? If so, can the SL developers do some additional testing based on the observations in the above thread to see if there might possibly be a problem with the client in such configurations?
