Question about Buying/Wearing Items

I recently bought an outfit from some store in SL. Once I tried to put on the outfit, all that appeared was a picture of the outfit cutting through my body (link below).

This has happened once before, the only other time I have bought something. Am I just buying the items wrong(though I was sure I followed the directions exactly) or am I missing something in putting them on?

Truely, this is one of the great SL confusions, Vendome! And for this, I sympathize. Here's what you need to do:

(You're wearing the box.)

Instead, drag the box from your inventory to the ground.

It should appear, but not on your body.

Right-click the box and select Open from the "pie" menu.

Inside are the clothes.

Drag the clothes from the window that comes up, back into your inventory. Perhaps a folder, to keep it neat.

You can then double-click the clothing to wear it. Or right-click it and select Wear. Same thing. =]

Fear not, this gets easier in the upcoming Second Life 1.9.1! There'll be a one-click action so you can open a box easier, as well as special move buttons to transfer the items to your inventory in a neat folder, whence upon which they can be bought.
