I dropped by the Second Life II campus just for yuks, and ran into a student there who was supposed to interview some SL avatars to ask them about why they chose their appearance. I was talking, but there was a griefer there who was exploding *something*. The student disappeared at some point; I'm not sure what he did. Moments later, I'm falling at very negative altitutude, and am nowhere. I can't teleport, so I log out.

What should one do when one runs across this sort of thing? Just before I left, I tried right-clicking on the <edited> avatar to report abuse, but I didn't see the option in there.

Although, obvously, community policing would be the first thing to be abused by griefers, is there any way that we might think about coming up with something that would allow people present to vote to eject a griefer from the current sim?

In the mean time, figure out who <edited> is and make sure he's far away from SL for as long as possible....

In a situation such as this, it's recommended that you go to the Help menu and choose Report Abuse. Pull down the Select Category menu and choose Assault. Follow the suggestions listed on the report to make sure that your report is relevant and helps Customer Support to determine patterns of abuse and take appropriate actions.

If you did not see the avatar responsible for hitting you with a script, go to the Help menu and choose Bumps, Pushes & Hits to see who has affected your avatar.
