Hamlet Au reported today that "The powers that be at Linden Lab recently instructed their employees to summarily delete any user-created content they came across that seemed to violate trademark or copyright infringement laws."

What exactly is the Linden Lab policy with regards to content deletion based on the appearance of an intellectual property infringement, and how does this compare or contrast to your existing DMCA compliance?

I'm not sure what Hamlet is referring to. Our policies regarding copyright infringement and trademark violations haven't changed. We use the DMCA process to address complaints about copyright infringement, and if we ask people using trademarks without license to remove them.
