Kelly Linden almost got to my concern about rentals masking as sales. But her answer to the suggestion that mainland sales be split from Private Island sales will just make things worse for Private Island owners who want to actually sell land.
Kelly, It is FALSE ADVERTISING to allow people clearly renting land to advertiste it as though they are selling it. And now you propose to isolate Private Island owners who are selling land with all the outrageous False Advertising Rentals.
The abusers of this are clear enough, just read a few of the ads. So how about bouncing all their for sale ads or making such FALSE ADVERTISING a TOS violation?
I would be happy for just some indication you have even read this, since you answered the other concern so quickly and this is my THIRD posting in a few days on the subject

I do not understand the distinction between a private island owner that is 'selling' land vs 'renting' land.
All private island owners operate under the same rules: - The estate owner may 'sell' land. - The estate owner always pays the LL tier cost, never the land purchaser/renter. - The estate owner may reclaim land they have sold at any time.
I believe the last rule is what makes it a 'rental'?
Or do you mean just the policy of whether or not you will have to continue to pay rent after the initial purchase price? Since that is a purely social thing for which there are no built in systems it is *very* hard to seperate them. Even if we gave land owners the choice of which to put their plots in, any that are acting in a dishonest way (which is the focus of your post) would just post in the wrong one. Perhaps at some point we will have a built in 'rent' system, in which case indicating if that is being used in Search will be possible.
