I run a 2 SIMd rental community along with another. One sim I bought, one sim she bought. We are both listed as eachothers estate managers.
So far we have had 2 'serious' griefer attacks. Both times the tools we are given to "evict/ban" people did not work, and the griefers remained on the sim. I had to contact a linden to remove these people the first time.
When they are finally removed, i stand on one sim and using the region/estate tools I add them to the ban list. I select "Ban from all estates"..they never get added to the other sim in the estate.......Or am I just misunderstanding and the 2 sims are not an 'estate'..??
Either way, there should be some type of option to allow me to EASILY add these people to the ban list onto our 2nd sim at the time of adding them to the ban list on our first time.
Another thing, and I have seen this brought up in here before, is the ability for managers to return prims... As i said, this is a residential community so our land is subdivded into numerous plots. To bring up the griefers again- they nuked the sim and we were left with prims of fire engulfing our sim. I had to stand on EVERY single plot to return it, and residents were in their house. Currently, i have a new renter who lost something on the sim (I hope he lost it and it didnt disappear into mid air as some of my objects have been doing recently).... i have no idea where his items are, and i am not about to stand on every plot using the "about land" option to check for his prims. its not that i dont care he lost it, its a hassle that we shouldnt have.
and we also cant overlook greedy people who feel the need to build skyhomes above other peoples plots. how do i know no one has a sky home over the plots? luckily we caught a guy in the act setting his up yesterday.
Us managers really need a tool to search the whole sim at once, regardless of if its divided into plots!
The last thing i want to bring up which is very important to me, is the "return objects" features we have- this is most definitely a disaster waiting to happen.
The "return" buttons are so close to eachother, i am waiting for the day either myself, or a fellow manager, returns all my objects on the sim( which would be all the plants, landscaping objects, and resident homes, rental meters, rental posts, etc etc). I understand it says "are you sure u want to return...." but non the less.... Its a disaster waiting to happen.
Today i had to invite someone to join our group and i almost invited them as manager...i have no way of kicking this person out of management- what if he decided to return all the objects on my sim, or sell my land?
Maybe we need to be able to password protect (OR SOMETHING???) the ability to return a chosen persons objects. this way, of myself or another manager accidentally has my objects selected instead of the intended persons, they are proposed with somewhere to enter a password..this way we have time to think "oh wait, wrong person"
believe me, when the grifers came and nuked our sim i was not in the mood to pay attn to the small popup, i just wanted the fire OFF my sim, ASAP.. i could have easily accidentally returned all of my objects.
Its just a major hassle these tools..and disasters waiting to happen.
Perhaps theres a trick to where my objects can not be returned...if so id like to know, because one wrong slip of thebottom could cause my community to go down the drain.
