I have been working on creating some items to sell. Last night I boxed them up and did some "test runs" but could not get the items to copy back from the box to my inventory. These are Copy/NO Modify/NO Transfer items. It was late, and I was tired so decided it was just being stupid and went to bed. This morning I bought an item from a vendor and when I tried to copy the items to my inventory it would not. Same as last night, the folder would copy, but the items in the box would not. I was relieved to find out I wasn't being as stupid as I had imagined last night. I went to your blog and found nothing listed about this. On the forums, I found this post: /139/5c/137845/1.html which tells me I am not an isolated case. Your virtual economy will shut down pretty fast with this issue, so I hope someone is in the office looking at these posts today.

Can Not Open Boxes!

I can't BELEIVE I'm requesting this...
PLEASE CLOSE THE GRID
This is the most serious bug I have *EVER* seen. I am absolutely appalled that such a glaring, commerce crippling bug has been allowed onto the main grid. How was this missed?
1. a "Boxed item" vendor will deliver the box to the customer's inventory, but when dropped and opened, neither "Copy to Inventory" nor "Copy and wear" will successfully transfer the contents to inventory. The ONLY thing that will work, is to manually edit the box, and transfer the contents manually to inventory, by dragging each item from the objet's contents. This is simply beyond most new user's abilities to understand.
2. the "Attatch To" menu does not work when right-clicking in the inventory list. The ONLY way to select an attatchment point curently, is to rez the item on the ground, then right click and navigate the pie's submenus unil you can select the attatchment point. This of course sets the avatar into flight mode, and the avatar will zoom around attempting to "pick up" the item and wear it. I advise AGAINST doing this in a skypad or other "sky based building platform" be on the ground, or better yet, affixed securely to a posing stand before trying this.
How many millions of lindens are being spent today? in the last 3 days? How many thousands of angry customers are walking away from vendors, refusing to every buy from a given retailer again because they were ripped off, deleting the boxed item in anger? How many are telling their friends what a ripoff that vendor is, stering them away forever? How many really complex and/or expensive items come boxed?
If you ever had an excuse to take the grid down to fix a problem.. THIS SHOULD BE ONE OF THEM!!! PLEASE for the sake of your business owning clients, don't allow another new user's money to be spent until this is fixed!

While these issues are serious and we are working to fix them they do not warrent a grid closure. As a general rule we only close the service when content is actually being lost or broken due to a bug. We close in these cases because work actively being done during time we remain open can become lost or irrepairable. In this case, while it is more difficult to do some things, no content is actually being lost and those actions can still be complete "the long way". As you said, inventory items can be copied individually, this can even be done from the 'open' window. Objects can be attached to specific points by using the pie menu on the object in world, even though the attach to menu in inventory is broken. Hopefully we will have fixes for both of these soon.
