Transfering US$ between accounts / Island cost sharing

Hello.

We are four people who want to own an Island.
As far as I understoon only one person, not a group, can be owner of the Island, so only one person would be billed.
We live in different countries, tho, so we have to find a convenient way to split up the costs for the island.
So I thaught each of us could upload US$ to their Account (The "Increase Your Credit" link in the account management on the SL website) and then transfer this credit to, for example, my account, and the island will be paid from this credit.

But I found that you cannot directly transfer US$ funds from your account to another, you can only "buy" L$ as one person, give them to the other in SL and then "sell" the money again, there, at considerable loss.

Or is there any other way to do this? Either to own an island as group (and LL splits the costs between the accounts) or to somehow transfer money for the payment without having to go through external means like paypal...?

Thanks in advance,
Sheila!

Followup:

Thanks Torley. I was thinking of a single "owner", really.. so one would be responsible. ust looking for a way for others to "chip in money" for the payment. Just one owner, tho, one who takes the risk and is responsibe to LL.

Hi Sheila! I don't know, but I'll ask for the insight of our island experts in Concierge. I'll forward your message right now...

Sheila, I heard back. Currently, we don't have a model for conveniently sharing the billing of an island amongst several people for several reasons: one is the possible conflicts that'd arise with more than a single owner. For example, say there's content loss on an island, and two owners who are splitting the cost. One of them wants a rollback, the other vehemently disagrees. Who do we listen to? As you can see, it greatly complicates things.

Regrettably, no other provision exists at the current time, but I hope this answers your question. :)
