With the island price increase announced, and with the possibility of mainland price increases seemingly on the horizon, many residents are expressing what their vision of what SL is, or at least should be, and where SL is headed, or where it should head. I'm a fairly new resident, excited about the possibilities of SL with my own ideas about what SL should be and where it should go.
One thing that I am having a hard time finding right now is a clear explanation of LL's vision of SL and where they want to take it. Perhaps its right on the front page and I'm missing it, but its possible everyone concerned right now, including LL, might benefit with making this as clear as possible. If expectations of some residents are not in line with the actual vision of LL, who ultimately have control of the system, it seems that nothing but frustration will come of it.
I would think that everyone who keeps coming back, especially with performance being so poor lately following all the other recent issues, wants SL to succeed (I know I sure do!), but not really sure its clear what it means for SL to succeed anymore (especially after reading comments about SL not being scalable in a recent Slashdot post, "Is Second Life the Paris Hilton of Virtual Worlds?", in particular this comment, http://games.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=201835&cid=16522493).
Any chance of posting the LL vision? Also, any chance of commenting on the particular slashdot comment? I didn't quote it here, but any information regarding the scalability of SL would be greatly appreciated!
