turning specific scripts off in island

I own an island and have been having a few lag issues, so I was looking in the region tools and such and found that I am able to see all the scripts, what they are running like, and am able to disable them, return them, and such. When I click to disable a script, nothing happens. I reload the screen and the script is still running in the list very high. Am I missing something here or is it possibly broken?
