Hi, any email i get from Concierge is always blank so i guess i`m going to have to start asking my questions in here again.

I own a private sim, its a rental community..the land is all subdivided. I need each parcel to have streaming video..this means the players need to be deeded.

Is there a way to get the renters players to work without deeding it? or do i absolutely have to change my land to group land and deed every player?

The reason i ask is because when i used to rent land from people my tv players became "group owned" from the deed and anyone in the group could walk by and take my player.

And if you got your player from JZ videos, they arent cheap.

can anyone in the group still just walk by and take deeded objects or was this resolved in one of the updates we had? if anyone can take it, is there a way around it?

============edit===========
I went to one of my plots of land and set the land so that it was group owned instead of owned by me and a lot of items were returned to the owner and myself.

does that simply mean that those items were not set to group? (If so why werent they returned earlier on? i have land set to auto return objects after 1 minute)

Need help.

I'll inform Concierge this problem of blank emails is still happening to you so it can be investigated further--that should have been fixed quite awhile ago. Can you please be sure to forward one of these blank emails with full headers to both Concierge and me (torley@lindenlab.com) so we can have a look? Apologies for the inconvenience.

A deeded object takes on "next owner" permissions. Meaning, if you have an object that's transferrable and you deed it to group, then yes, it can be taken.

The solution for more control over manipulating deeded objects will arrive with the new Groups system, which you can learn more about in Frans Charming's blog post commenting on details given by Kelly Linden. In short, it allows for specific permissions in a group so you can control finely WHO can take deed objects (permissions willing), in addition to many other things. Including who can change parcel media URL. As for the specifics of your players, I'd ask the creator for more info.

I couldn't say more details for sure about the situation you describe after your edit unless we were to reproduce it step-by-step. Sounds to me like they simply weren't set to the right group. When deeding land (changing owner from a Resident to a group), it's always best to leave autoreturn time at 0 until you've ensured everything is set to the right group.

Hope this helps, Jesseaitui.
