Seriously. What's the point?

They don't 'win' anything.

They don't gain any money.

They don't complete any quests.

All it does is piss off thousands of people.

Linden Lab, you obviously have much more experience of this than I do. Why do you think people come here just to create trouble? When will you bring back verified signups so that these idiots can be stopped before they start trouble?
