Why even Vote

You know we have a voting system in our options to tell the lindens what we want and or need. I have seen a proposal that has recieved more votes than any other proposal listed (Prop 1503) It would seem that a proposal recieving such a large amount of votes would get the attention of the Lindens but a responce "We're currently tracking this situation closely and plan to continue to improve features for controlling griefing, including better mute tools that extend mute beyond the avatar to objects and IMs" was all that was recieved.... hmmm seems funny to me that a simple reinstatement of the verification process would one stop the children who we now see running rampant thru SL as well as the instant ability to circumvent banning by making another AV in under 2 mins to re-grief you, but also would track easier the abusers.

The responce of the lindens of the new ban/mute and anti push are useless... one the no push does not work... and the ban only works on the av that just griefed you and not the one thier making as thier harassing you...so they can come right back. We also have the option of banning non-verified accounts... well because not all those who have recently come into game can be classified as griefers but actual SL players I would be descriminating or lumping them in with wrongdoers... so again yet another useless option.

We build in SL so others may see our creations... we explore SL because we want to enjoy the game... Why should we have to put up walls because Lindenlabs has failed too... why should we lock our land because Lindenlabs has opted to risk allowing underaged as well as childish players into the game unmonitored.

I know the verification process wont eliminate the underagers... but will slow thier entry as it used too...

I also know that when I first created over a year and a half ago under the verification process I could not make more than 3 accounts...

So which is it... Either remove the voting system which is obviously being ignored or reinstate the verfication process.

P.S. Here is a blog which details what thier trying to do... I am not trying to say thier doing nothing but this is an issue that needs to be proactive not reactive... its like what happened in New Orleans... lets not build proper floodgates then having to figure out what to do now with all the damage and water... TOO LATE

Its not our responcibility to protect SL... its hard enough to protect our own land lately and I feel for the staff of lindens in game, as I am sure thier running all over SL trying to take care of complaints... heck I watched one get shot by a griefer trying to do her job... its got to be like bringing a flyswatter to kill a hornets nest.

Hello Aaron, I've been asked this many times before. Voting can make a difference, but of course, when stuff *you* want to see doesn't come true, it can be discouraging.

It's also important to remember that voting in high numbers can help, but has to be taken into account as part of a larger picture.

I don't think it's accurate to say the new anti-griefing tools are useless. I've already heard a lot of good feedback about them, including suggestions for future improvements.

one the no push does not work.

They do. :) Please see Cube Linden's posted rules for clarification:
