Our 50-person ban list has been full for the last year; Since the new registration, we have cycled through those 50 slots fully, and continue to, every day.
One of the suggestions we had was the following:
A 100-person permanent ban list, with:
an unlimited 24-hour "FIFO" temporary banlist.
It'd work this way. You'd have 100 slots where you could *permanently* ban an individual. Those would be for repeat offenders.
The 24-hour "rolling" ban list would always be available, however, even if the 100 was full, for a 24-hour period. First-on would roll off first.
This would have to be manually entered and not by script, to prevent a constant "overloading" or "refreshing" of the FIFO/rolling ban list.
... That's an idea we presented last week to a Linden --- in any case, the 50 just *has* to be increased in order for us to even *utilize* the new individual ban height.

These ideas would be fantastic. Although I'll venture to say that increasing the list to a limit of 100 may end up being only a band-aid as Second Life grows larger.
Our parcel ban list at the Shelter reached 50 today. At this rate, we are adding 1-2 avatars per day, and a limit of 100 may only help us for another month or two.
Personally, I'd like to see that ban list max at not less than 250. With a number like that, it'll be a long while before ban list length becomes an issue again.
It would also be nice if avatars that have been permanantly removed from SL, also automatically disappear from the parcel ban list. Today, removing avatars that no longer show up in find is a manual process, and must be done because these slots have become so precious.
250 may seem like a lot now, but if the goal is indeed 1 Million residents in SL, 250 is merely a drop in the ocean.
Thanks!
