The arbitrary removal of perfectly acceptable posts from the blogs is causing much distress to many members of the community, finding themselves being censored from expressing the truth.

May I please ask that, whenever blog comments are removed, the Linden responsible is required to inform the original poster why their comments were removed, so that they may be reposted without whatever it was that they decided to take a dislike to.

It is very frustrating, and entirely unprofessional, to just remove posts without warning, for any or no reason, and for the user to have no clue why. After all, how can we "improve our posting style" if we aren't told what is wrong with it?

This issue of not informing people about forum warnings was a huge mistake, and I really was hoping that Linden Lab would have learnt their lesson that lack of communication is a bad thing and does NOT lead to happy customers.

It's clear that we need some guidelines for comments on the blog, although they will be very similar to those we have on the forums -- no trolling, flaming, or disclosure of personal information. The comments that have been removed did not meet these guidelines.

We've changed the process so now all comments will go through a moderation queue. That should add a higher degree of consistency. I'll also post a more complete set of guidelines.
