ok in anothergame i play we are allowed to have "pets" that follow you around.
as a newplayer to secondlife, i thought i would see if i could get one too.

i found a little penguin but it kept running away, so after searching the ads i came across a spybot. it followed me around and told me who was around my location, how far away they was too.

within 5 minutes i was told that my pet was illegal and that my account would be disabled if i countinued to use it(another resident). he/she told me that any recording is not allowed.
was what they said true? and if so why was i allowed to buy one, and there was no such mention of this in the notecard i recieved.
he/she also said i couldn't even use it on my own land........
a speedy reply would be greatly appreciated- liz

Hi Liz, I've been contacted by the wonderfully creative creator of the Spybot, Kim Anubis, with more details. Despite what the name may lead some to think, no, it's not illegal, nor is it harmful to one's account! And it most certainly doesn't log chat (Disclosure is a violation of the Community Standards). It is playful, however. :)

Don't worry about false rumors and scares. If someone claims something which sounds fishy, have things verified by a Linden... which is what you're doing here.

Alright, we're all good now. Take care. ^_^
