Back in the good old days before unverified signups, alts cost a $10 one-off fee.
I am just wondering whether I will be charged now if I upgrade my 'freebie alts' by putting in payment details on file.
Common sense says I no longer should be charged to put payment details on file, but I would like a definite answer please.

No Lewis, you won't be charged, since Basic accounts are free. Putting your payment info won't get you charged--if you upgrade in the true sense of the word, meaning to a Premium account, then yes, appropriate charges will be applied. Hope this helps.
