I haven't been on SL but 4 days. I have been checking it out, looking around after work all week. I was hoping to really get into it this weekend during work time off. I am not yet a paying member but I am on other rpg places. I have been considering it though depending on how the weekend went. If this is how things are often, I need to reconsider getting involved..I can understand shutting down for an hour or two. Heck, even for a few hours longer. But to shut down for an entire weekend? No warning, no public annoucements on the board of down time, when it would be coming up, is not good business protocal.

I pay for monthly fees on two other online experiences and they do give inworld warnings with a count down. They also immediately post something on the boards to keep members informed. Instead I now sit here and continuously try to log in unsure if it was down just for a quicky. Otherwise I could just wait it out doing other things....clean house for example or other things I have pushed aside.

I guess that LL has disabled replying to posts. Unbelievable.

Anyway...

I posted this very concern last weekend - and I'm a premium member. I think that I joined too soon myself. It is obvious that LL works very hard to fix their software. But therein lies the problem, IMHO. The software is ALWAYS needing to be fixed.

I wouldn't dare tell you not to join. But I can say that I am seriously believing I made a mistake.
