My shop is located in a french speaking sim, which has been overrun recently by a lot new french players drawn in by the recent media hype. I have recently submitted several abuse reports, mainly for kids who have admitted ages from 13 to 17 in their chat.

I have always copy/pasted the chat logs in french to the ARs and was wondering if this was actually any help. Do you guys translate or try to figure out the meaning of chat logs in foreign languages ? Do you take the plaintiff's word for it ? Or do you just discard them because you don't understand and fire off an "AR resolved" email ? What about other languages ? What is your policy on this ?

Should I translate chat logs into english or should I leave them untampered ?

Hi Nibb!

We prefer if you don't translate the transcript, although we appreciate the offer. First, we need to verify the transcript before taking any action to make sure the claim is valid. If it's written in another language, we'll find someone to translate it for us. Just be sure to go to the Help Menu in Second Life and select "Report Abuse". Select Age as a category and if you paste the transcript in there, we'll make sure it's addressed. Thanks for your concern.

Best!

Claudia
