Picture files in Photofolder in SL client.. what to do?

How much ”power? do the photo files use.. same as clothes or.,. I think of sawe power to the asset server and download them al to my HD... (IRL scary!).,.. and delete them in SL..

I wil of course do the same with the pics that are in the texture folder.. not the textures:-))

Good or Bad?.. No help to get up speed?

Generally, here's what I do: I put many pictures into the contents of a plywood cube to "stuff" them so they don't count as part of my searchable inventory items. This helps if you have 1000s of pictures like I do.

It's good to do your own part to be efficient and keep a tidy inventory, and you can certainly backup stuff to your hard drive, but I wouldn't worry too much about it.

A cleaner way to go about it is to save pictures to disk in the first place and then have a web gallery on Flickr, as I do. In which case they won't be stored as assets, and won't take up any space to begin with. :)
