Is there some good reason you are putting joke entries on the police blotter now?

I refer to these:

Date: Friday, June 30, 2006
Violation: Second Life: Respect, Pets
Region: Arabian Nights
Description: Hedgehogs will be respected, dammit!
Action taken:
Warning issued.

Date: Thursday, June 29, 2006
Violation: Forum Informal Warning: Personal Attacks
Region:
Description: Calling another Resident a "moron".
Action taken: Warning issued.

How can we tell what is real and what isn't? Are you trying to make a joke out of the system? Or are you trying to say the system is a joke? Are you making fun of us for taking it seriously in the first place?

What about the people who really have gotten warnings, suspensions, and punishments? How do you think this makes them feel?

I don't believe it is right to punish people - often incredibly arbitrarily - on the one hand, then make light of it on the other.

I would like to hear an explanation for this.

P.S. And if the "moron" one is real, well then you got a LOT of splainin to do.

Yeah, I got suspended using a message I put into the warnings list for a bit of light hearted humor for my fellow Lindens.

I wasn't trying to make any statement about the system, just figured some Lindens who could use a laugh would get a laungh out of it. I didn't architect it to have any deeper meaning than that and didn't really expect to see it in the police blotter.

I personally think the police blotter is a great resource to have available. I keep hoping someone will remix it and the SL map to make something like this: http://www.chicagocrime.org/map/

Anyway, I'm sorry that you found this offensive, it certainly wasn't my intention to offend anyone.

As for the other police blotter entry you quote, I have no idea. Sounds like a personal attack to me though, so I'm not surprised that someone would get dinged for that sort of behavior on the forums.

Cheers,
Lawrence
