I know, I must post a suggest in Feature Suggestions, but before I would like to know if there already is this feature :D.

I would like to put a standalone copy of SL client, from when I'm in not own computer. I dont want install the client in all friends computers I use, but sometimes I would like to login, only to read IMs (to avoid capping).

Maybe is enough to copy SL folder in my usb key, but I'm shure. Else, is is not enough that, I will suggest a feature and, eventually, make a voting.

As always, sorry for my english :o

As always, thanks!

Hi again Imajica!

Nice to see you once more. This brings up several schools of thought. One of them, of course, is that SL is a richly social space, and having a standalone version with noone else around would be boring. On the other hand, some will argue that they get distracted building in a public sandbox, and would like to build alone.

We have no current plans for such a thing, as Second Life is networked and connected and can't be run without our servers which simulate the very regions you travel through.

Also, I agree that having a "light" way to use SL would be nice for exchanging IMs. For me, Instant Messaging is a very clunky and arduous procedure at times because of how I can reply via email to recent messages, but only to those who've IMed me first!

However, I must always recognize Resident ingenuity. Jeffrey Gomez made a standalone Offline Builder, which is now in beta. Go check it out, sounds like something up your alley. :)
