Is one allowed to use the advertiser objects such as the one at the Waterhead welcome area to advertise a group, as opposed to advertising a product for sale?
Do you need to own land or have use of a parcel of land in order to use the advertiser objects?

Sounds like an original usage... group recruiting. Go for it!
You don't have to own/use land either. I've seen *people* advertised too, e.g. "Come find me inworld!"
