Arf!

After crashing several times in a row this night, I was wondering about the crash reports sent in.

What happens with the crash reports being sent? How're they used? What info is being sent in them? Can I see what info the report send? Could be helpfull to solve the problem, as many crashes is likely to be something with the computer the client is on. Prop: 1564 - Details button in Crash logger

If we residents could help keep SL crashes down on our own, you'll save bandwidth, database space, time looking trough crash reports and have lots more content residents. ^.^

Hey Delu. The following info is included in crash reports: your system config (much of which you can see in Help menu > About Second Life), along with the debugging info that appears if you have Client menu on (Ctrl-Alt-D) and then select "Console Window".

Often, these crash reports are *most* helpful when they have context provided alongside them. Specifically, if you file a bug report to state a reproduction for a crash, and then say "I just sent in crash reports about it too!" so those can be inspected by our Developers and Quality Assurance. They're not a waste of space because they provide clues, but it *does* help to know, in your own words, what you were doing when you crashed.

Related to that Feature Voting Tool proposal, on Windows at least, a savvy Resident can go to:

C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\SecondLife\logs

and check what happened last.
