Torley,
I am spitting nails angry right now. The new so called anti-griefing tools are all too often recently used by land owners to grief land buyers.
I run a legitimate business and operate with high standards and principles and ALWAYS have the best interest of the community at heart. I have NEVER bought and retained land that was not intended for for sale to me, despite what the dialog confirmations are. I have returned literally hundreds of plots of land (maybe thousands) in my two years in Second Life. I make every effort to allow "good faith" transactions and encourage other land buyers to do the same.
Some residents recently have been setting their land to sell to ANYONE at low market values to draw land buyers. Once P2Ping to the location, they freeze, verbally abuse then ban sending the avatar flying across the sim. Today, I was accused of being A- "A fucking swooper" B- "A Bottom feeder" C- " A Predator" D- " A person who stalks newbies to steal their land ". None of which is true.
Torley, you encourage us to be the change. I could not agree more, and do as you suggest, by my interactions with others, but abuse is outstripping the ability do business in a fair and competitive manner. It's highly upsetting and totally disruptive. Filing ARs is time consuming and contributes to lost sales and neglected customers.
I have reported this in the past and will continue to do so, but it is quite obvious, this abuse is on the increase, it's become a daily occurence, therefore the system is failing us.
Now that I've had my rant, my question is this.
What is LL willing to do, to allow business people to conduct business in good faith while reducing the griefing from abusive land owners who had no intention to sell their land?
