when creating a .raw file, i'm left wondering about channels 12 and 13.

are these automatically filled at some point? or is it safe to assume that they should be part of the original file? for example, if i made a custom .raw file, should i fill channels 12 and 13 with the information from channels 1 and 2 (respectively)?

(as a side thought: maybe this would make a good topic for SLCC '06?)

Curious about this too... I found more data provided by the Content team, and it sounds like yes, what you're onto is right:

From: someone
  1. Channel 12 stores the pristine height of the land, similar to channel 1. It is accessed when in-world tools are used to to "revert" land back to it's unaltered state. When new land is bulk uploaded and after any additional modifications have been made, Content "bakes" the sim prior to auction. Baking places the resulting height field data here. It works in conjuction with channel 13.
  1. Channel 13 stores the pristine multiply factor of the land, similar to channel 2. In conjunction with channel 12, It is accessed when in-world tools are used to "revert" land back to it's unaltered state. When new land is bulk uploaded and after any additional modifications have been made, Content "bakes" the sim prior to auction. Baking places the resulting multiply data here.

Hope this helps, Cybin! :)
