Heyhey Joker!

Thanx for asking. I'm still here at Linden Lab! Very much so.

I did take a vacation during the holidays. I'm continuing to be on the Community Team as a Community Developer of Communications (or "Community Team Spirit", take your pick of fun titleage, hehe.)

As we find ourselves in the New Year... much change is afoot!

I haven't been so much on the forums recently because my endeavors have been focused mainly elsewhere. Where?


Official Linden Blog - I alternate between phases of prolific blog posting, and actually working behind-the-scenes on improvements with our Creative Services personnel like Jose, Sky, and Jeff.

Knowledge Base - I've been writing and doing pictures for articles like the revamped Preferences Guide — which I think was pretty sweet, 'cause oh, just about everyone uses the prefs. We're still looking for a Technical Writer & Editor to help us scale support! In the meantime, I'll keep doing articles.



Feature Voting Tool - Still working with the likes of fellow Lindens like Jean and Karen on this. Figuring out how we're going to make it better for the future. Last week, I commented, acknowledged, etc. dozens of proposals... I know that's been sorely lacking, so I spent some much-needed time there filling in cracks.

Built me a nice place @ the Linden Village - Pathfinder helped set me up. We're brainstorming ways of making it easier for Residents to visit us in avatar! As a side effect, I also reported a bunch of building bugs. Speaking of bugs...

PUBLIC BUG TRACKER!!! OMG AT LAST - Today with Open Source, very exciting and substantial. I recommend each and everyone to check it out, we're really redefining "user participation" and what constitutes "content creation" with code contributions to the Viewer, and helping us fix bugs... not just reporting them but possibly patching them! Already, numerous ideas are afoot. I'll be spending a lot of my time on the public Second Life Issues (BETA), and adding comments when I can. Also relating it to how we can expand usage of internal tools (this tracker's based on JIRA, which was also use in the company) to benefit the Resis of SL!


Okay, so that's a few of the projects I have going on. Alas, I'm only one Linden, so as mentioned, I haven't been much to the forums lately. I also read 100s of emails a day and reply to as many as I have time for, comment on external blogs and increase awareness of Second Life abroad (e.g., building up our presence on YouTube and Flickr by using my own art as examples) There's so much help needed in numerous aspects of Second Life. Busy-busy-busy! Hehe. Good news is tho, we're hiring more Lindens and... yup... just wanted to let you know.

And remember, on Linden Answers, our Community Team rotates in helping out.
